I am relatively new to the grammy blog community, but I have been reading up on this fabulous time of life for several years now. I have some favorite resources that I plan to share one at a time, and eventually I’ll add a page, maybe even a widget (what?! Is this really me?!) that will show all my favorites.

I am learning amazing amounts from other bloggers so I’ll certainly be sharing their sites. And I have found many valuable books that I am thankful to turn to in my personal library…I’ll let you know what I’m reading and why I think you might enjoy the same materials.

Family-friendly movies

Websites

Interactive toys/games

Children’s books

Kid-friendly vacation sites

Art/craft projects

I’m looking for new resources all of the time, so please PLEASE share your insights. Are there any ‘must-haves’ that you can share…or anything that caught your eye and then you realized that it was a waste of time and/or money? Let us know!!

Seasoned grandparents are the best resource of all. Share what you know now, what you wish you knew earlier, how-to-anything, places to see, places to avoid, favorite books/games/toys!

Your input is priceless.

I have a tagline on my emails that says, “Anything worth knowing can be found on a Grandma blog!” and I think it is true! There are some great blogs out there and you can get so many great ideas just from seeing what other grandparents are doing. I started blogging when Amara was almost 6 and now that she is 11 I have expanded my resources to Pinterest and cooking sites. Of course Pinterest wasn’t there when I started but it does hold some great ideas! I wish you MUCH success as we need more Grandma bloggers! We’re a very cool group!

I read this post a week ago and decided to give it some thought before coming back to comment. My best suggestion today is still the first that came to mind! Combining a great website with wonderful kid activities/crafts is Grandma Shelley’s “Grandma’s Little Pearls.” This high energy lady conducts camps for the cousins in summer, and again right after Thanksgiving to kick off the family Christmas season. She has a separate section on crafts alone, and each one is clever and original. My favorite post is her “secret agent spy camp.” It will blow you away. I promise! I hope to be able to duplicate the fun of that one in a year or so using her ideas. Shelley welcomes everyone to share the creativity she enjoys with her beloved grandchildren!
