Family vacation: Day one

Jim at the Marriott
Well, this is a first.

An extended family vacation. Siblings. Multi-generations. And sun.

Not too hot. But warm enough to enjoy the resort pool.

Plenty of time to splash with little ones and dodge water cannons. (I must say that I didn’t see the other grandmothers and great-aunts fully committed to water play — how do you hang out at a pool and not have wet hair?! Oh, well. Wouldn’t trade those moments.)

Thankful for men who enjoy cooking on the grills — mets, brats, grilled veggies. Yum. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest had plenty to eat and we might even have some left-overs for tomorrow.

My only regret? I wish I had a waterproof camera. The faces on these little ones are priceless, though I don’t have a single picture to prove it. Thankful that they are etched into my memory…

Day one of several. This Grammy is looking forward to some amazing adventures.

There is nothing more fun than being chased by a grandchild armed with a water balloon or a Super Soaker!

You are correct! And the pool had water cannons on the side that let anyone shoot anyone else! Loads of fun!!
